You will find what Albert Hoffmann had to say about our hero at the following: http://www.dct.ac.uk/www/books/problem-child.html#chap7 >> Didn't Juenger use WW 1 and violence as a drug too ( just as bookreading before, and after)? To me "Der Kampf als inneres Erlebnis" seemed to be a first version of "Das abenteuerliche Herz". Different looks on the same thing: Rites de Passage. And the new diary starts as a dream diary of a "Grosser Uebergang". Quiet list, just like the reviewers, why?. In Sueddeutsche Zeitung (11./12.10.97) I found a review of Juengers correspondence with Rudolf Schlichter (painter and writer): "Briefe 1935-1955. Mit Briefen von Gretha Juenger und Speedy Schlichter sowie Ernst Niekisch, Armin Mohler, Carl Schmitt, A. Paul Weber u.Paul Wilhelm Wenger. Hg. Dirk Heisserer. Stuttgart 1997" - with a photo of a strange Juenger-portrait. It could be a source for Juengers Goslar years. Greetings Hartmut Dietz
