>The Glass Bees is available again. >Ernst Juenger, The Glass Bees, New York: New York Review of Books Classical Series, 2000, paperback >Introduction: Bruce Sterling >Translation: Louise Bogan and Elizabeth Mayer >Price: US$ 12.95 Bertil, thanks for sharing that with the list. Especially the introduction by Bruce Sterling - if it is THE Bruce Sterling (i.e. the celebrated SF/cyberpunk writer) - sounds most promising. Does the book give any more information on Sterling or perhaps his motivation to write an introduction to Juenger's SF novella? Bogan and Mayer, btw, also translated two or three of Juenger's capriccios (from the second version of "The Adventurous Heart") back in the 1950s -- I think it was "The Hippopotamus" and "The Color Red" (published in "The Atlantic Monthly", if my memory serves me well). Excellent translations, btw (Bogan, as far as I know, also translated some Goethe). Best regards, Richard Brem reply to: e-ensign@thing.net
