265 (p. 177)

all heimisch und ohne Vaterland. Das mag zur
Erklaerung beitragen, warum es selbst in den
Doerfern strittig geworden ist, ob ein
Kriegerdenkmal errichtet oder sogar ein von den
Vaetern ererbtes Erdboden gleichgemact werden
soll."

Commentary

The titans are ruling and will rule for
some time. They differ from the heroes.
Which could mean we have lost the contact
with the necessary ingredient for survival.
Hedonism had spread in the Roman empire
before its fall. Now the same hedonism
appears in the West.

The titans leave fossil remains, not
monuments over thos who were willing
to sacrifice.

Maybe EJ was presenting a prognosis on
globalism when he wrote that the titans
have no home and feel at home everywhere.

This will be my last contribution in the
series on _Die Schere_, that deserves a
translator into English. EJ should have
survived to enter the third millenium and
give further advise. We can only hope
for material from his archive.

Best wishes and hopes for a successful
1999 for all listmembers.

Prognostically yours

Bertil Haggman
