Thanks Isaac,

I was just talking to a spanish scholar about the very same thing.

He told me that the direct translation into English of "emboscadura"
was ambush, which surprised me, because that does not carry any of
the implications of Waldgang except "bosque" or "woods". He was also
inclined to say that "Ranging the forest" and "ranger" might be more
suitable translations.

The "vote" is still out...

Dear j=FCngerians,

the spanish translation of "Der Waldgang" is "La emboscadura". This term
comes from the word "bosque" (forest) and it means the act of getting into
the forest. "Der Waldg=E4nger" is translated by "El emboscado".
