Brilliant! I am glad to have such a postive response. I think it is a good Idea. The question remains, if we should follow Herr Rebing's suggestion, which I am all for, Die Schere. Or maybe we should run two readings one essay in german and a story in both english, german, and espanol, for the other list members. Unfortunatly most of the essays have not been translated into English, Sprich Waldgang, Arbeiter, Weltstaat, usw. The readings in English we could choose from are to my knowledge, Storms of steel, Glass Bees, Aladdin's Problem, A dangerous encounter, Eumeswil, and last but not least Marble Cliffs. I would greatfully volunteer to scan in the chosen texts and post them. That is, if I have them in my library. I do have "die Schere" so we could work with that. I also have marble cliffs, Eumeswil, and Glass bees in english, which I would also be willing to post for those readers who don't have access to these works. What about "Strahlungen", it also has short passages, which are often very flavorful? So what do you think? Bwana? What? What does that mean? You see my problem already, Ulrich? :-) I don't have anything against it as a language...aach du weißt was ich meine. :-) (Just an aside, isn't it amazing how important these little smiley faces, :-) have become. It seems such a banal thing and yet they can keep you out of a lot of trouble. Just try sending a sarcastic remark to somebody with a smiley and then without, it is really astounding. Just a little electronic face keeps an e-mail from becoming "flamingly" serious, Quite a Phenomena this :-) little face.) All the best, I await your replies Abdalbarr
