> [Roberto Calvo Macias] Totally agree, Thomas. You have give the crucial sentence: here we are. Thats the reality. Either the titanic world is good or bad we must face it. > I think we are the titans. It was a man that discover fire, so prometheus was a man. Perhaps an special one. The Dionysus case is a bit special. In fact, sometimes is said to be a god, like greeks, sometimes like a titan- J way. Inebriation permit us to conect to that hidden misterious and therefore its realtionship also with art. But the two titans have the other side. When prometheus stealed the fire, he stealed two things: a Power and a Danger. Wow, just occured to me that we could indeed be titans. In the sense that we need to be controled i.e. Chained by the divine. That would mean in this instance, that divine law is over human law. Isn't this the point at which we lost the divine in the last five hundred years? What Ralston Saul in _Voltaire's Bastards_ call the tyrrany of reason. To take it a step further why would an eagle tear out the liver of Prometheus. Traditionaly the liver is considerd the seat of anger. When the liver is out of balance one can become irritable and is quick to anger. The would correspond to almost all world religions rejecting rashness and anger. Rashness would apply to science here, don't do what you can, because you can, but first reflect the consequences. Prometheus means forthought as Jünger describes so well in, I believe der Weltstaat. (please correct me if anyone knows.) Prometheus could have been rash in ignoring the orders of Zeus, not practicing his name? "Liver out of balance? Hold on, we'll take care of that!" just some thought that occured during reading. Abdalbarr
