mailing list archive - Similarity of Communist and National Socialist Oppression

To avoid the wrath of John King I will complete
énd my observation on the theme of comparison
of national socialism an communism with two quotes from
Milovan Djilas groundbreaking books, The New Class,
which I unfortunately only have in Swedish so it will
have to be a rough translation:

"The 'socialist realism' of the communists does not
even in terminology differ from Hitler's national
socialism." (p. 141, Swedish edition).

"It is wrong to believe that other forms of
discrimination - race, cast or national discrimination -
are worse than ideological discrimination. The
might appear more brutal, but they are not as
refined and complete." (p. 145).

I think ex-Stalinist Djilas has expressed this
very well. Unfortunately a number of
people still for some reason believe that
Hitler was worse than Stalin. It is the other way
around and I don't think Milovan Djilas can
be accused for harbouring any sympathies
for arch state terrorist Hitler. He loathed Hitler
but he saw clearly after leaving the camp of Stalin.

One can only hope that the archives in Moscow
will be opened widely at some stage in the future
so that we may now the full story of the communist
horrors in the Soviet Union. And that the regime
in Beijing will collapse and that the archives of
Mao will become available.

Possible views on this my last statement on this
subject on the list can be offered to my e-mail
address: bertil.haggman@helsingborg.se.

Best wishes
