We could even ak more detailed:
who among the listmembers was NOT an infantryman ?

Of course the militarian element is present in nearly all works of
EJ. "Der Kampf als inneres Erlebnis" is the key to this
experience of which - I guess - most of us participated
(in lecture, in serving or in both).
