ernst jünger in cyberspace

mailing list archive - Re: Jung(er)

Roberto, was it you, who asked about Jung and J=FCnger?
I found this title in the catalogue:

Jung und J=FCnger : Gemeinsamkeiten und Gegens=E4tzliches=20
in den Werken von Carl Gustav Jung und Ernst J=FCnger /=20
hrsg. von Thomas Arzt, K. Alex M=FCller und=20
Maria Hippius-Gr=E4fin D=FCrckheim ; mit Beitr. von Thomas Arzt ... [et al.]
W=FCrzburg : K=F6ningshausen & Neumann
ISBN 3826016335

Looking further I found under Graf D=FCrckheim: "Der Weg ist das Ziel",

- btw, an answer to J=FCnger's early question in "Die Schere" -=20

a conversation on TV with Karl Schelting, which I remember to have seen,
maybe 15 years ago. It was in the series "Zeugen des Jahrhunderts".
The two were talking, a.o., about the Japanese earth-power Chi or Ki.
D. said he couldn't explain it, but he could show it, he said to S.,
who was a big strong man: try to bend my arm. When I relate myself to Chi,
you won't be able to move it. And so it happened: S. was trying
really hard, but the thin and fragile count and his arm remained =20
stirless.=20

                              ***

Somewhere in the diaries, J. recollects WW1, the diving on the ground=20
when it came close, the pressing against the earth, and the feeling of
the safety of it.
After J. buried his second son, Alexander, he writes in similar vain
about the consolation that the earth grants.

H=F6lderlin:   Die Dichter m=FCssen auch
             die Geistigen weltlich sein.=20
