I read the two reviews of EJ's Politische Publizistik with amazement and great profit. Though the occasion was only too favourable neither of the authors indulged in the ritual EJ bashing that has been en vogue among German intellectuals for half a century. Is it possible that a new generation of critics has risen that is no longer haunted by the obsession to hunt the lone wolf and brandish him as the spiritual head of the Schreibtischtäter that paved the road to Auschwitz? __________________________________________
