Hello out there,

yes, Bertil, you are right, the Saemtliche Werke would only be a
beginning, but I think it would cover 80-90 % of what is important.
Zwille would have to be done too, there will be a few names in there as
well, even if it's only Karl May ;-) Die Schere and Siebzig Verweht
III-V would have to be included next, but let's just start somewhere. I
think that starting with the diaries (Baende I-V of SW) is a good idea .
Would you care to start with Bd. IV (Siebzig Verweht I) (that is
assuming that you have it).

And John, yes it is a lot of work, so let's do it ;-) How about taking
Bd I for starters, you should know it by heart now anyway ;-)

To UK: Würdest du auch mitmachen?

As for what do we want indexed: Names certainly; places I guess (Somme,
Paris, Rostow... ?), historic events, like WWI and the French
Revolution. What else? And what about Kniébolo and Hitler? Put them
together? What abaout all the other codenames?

As to format: I think doing a database is really taking it too far. I'd
propose (and volunteer (my god, what am I letting myself in for)) to do
it as a table in a simple WinWord document. That would make it sortable
alphabetically and it would be easy to convert it into both HTML- and
TXT-files.

Greetings from Berlin

Olaf
