mailing list archive - Index

Hello out there,

as always what started out as a simple idea in reality becomes quite
difficult. So:

What do we want to include in that index? I think names of Personae
and Places are obvious. I think that historical events like the French
revolution, WW I... would be useful as well. Also certain Juenger all
time greats like Titanen in it's different forms. I reckon we should
agree on a specific list for these topics before we start. If the whole
thing gets out of hand because we can't agree on a simple list let's just
do names.

To Bertil: Do you know whether the Paginierung of your SV edition
is identical to the Saemtliche Werke edition? I could go and check in
a library.

To Günter: Off course it would be better to include dates and
sections, but it would mean a lot more work and the index would
become more difficult to read. I would propose to simply stick to the
pages of the 18 volumes of the red SW, plus the three remaining Sv II-
V plus Die Schere. And you won't need a scanner, you just need your
index finger ;-) plus pen and paper. Just jot down who gets
mentioned on page xx. If I could get the results in digitized form
(preferably in a WinWord .doc-table, but txt would be fine too) I'd cut
& paste it all together.

Finally I hope that I don't come on as a show off or something... I just
think it's a useful idea that is feasible if we all work on it together...
IMHO we can't really aim at something that is perfect, we just want a
tool that makes it easier for us and other people to navigate the
continent of Juenger's Werke. Phew.

Greetings from Berlin
