A curious item for your delectation. Recently I was talking with a friend about the Nazis, and naturally we referred to Josef Goebbels. He mentioned in passing that Goebbels had written novels before becoming Hitler's minister of propaganda. It was just one of those casual remarks, like referring to Hitler's artwork. Later I wondered: It it really so? I believe that Goebbels was a journalist, but did he actually write novels? Were any every published, even as archival materials? I recall that his diaries were published some years ago, and I believe they were authentic, unlike the Hitler diaries; but I've never heard of novels before. Could someone on the J=FCnger list clarify the matter for me? The connection with EJ is not hard to make. Goebbels, as an aspiring writer, might have admired what he saw in EJ. I hasten to add that it would not have been EJ's fault if he did. GK
