Dear list-members,

In "The details of time" on the last page EJ says: "In the hymns of the 
good era, this is expressed marvelously:

I perceived your splendour, Lord, from afar
I would like to link heart to it in advance,
And, Sublime Creator, I would so much like
To give you the gift of my negligible life."

Can anyone tell me from which hymn J is quoting?
