Commentary We have discussed the meaning of "Erdvergeistigung" in the works of EJ before. It is a both interesting and fascinating term. But what would earth revolution mean. War and migration is still "aehnlich" but not "gleich" any more. Spengler has pointed out the problems of migration and the threat to the West. The French author Jean-Cristophe Rufin, a specialist on the Third World, has written an interesting book on the new barbarian threat to the West. The title of the German edition is _Das Reich und die neuen Barbaren_ (The Empire and the New Barbarians_, 1993). Don't agree with Rufin myself who claims that Rome after the victory over Carthage needed a new enemy and "invented" the Barbarians. But the Germanic and other peoples were real threats allright. In the end it was the Goths that toppled West Rome. But Rufin wants to see similarities in connection with the fall of the Soviet empire.
