It having been a long-held ambition of mine to finally get round to redesigning the Ernst J=FCnger website I run, I am putting together a long-term informal project plan involving all sorts of interesting technology... The first step in the improvement program is an update of the look and feel of the current site, no doubt together with some small editorial changes for the better. To that end I have been playing around with Photoshop 6.0 at home and have outputted the results as jpg files. You can take a look on http://www.juenger.org/newej/ note that all files are ca. 100kB The order in which to look at them would be: 1. http://www.juenger.org/newej/ej4_homepage.jpg which is a sort of splashpage 2. http://www.juenger.org/newej/index_page1.jpg which would be the main contents index 3. http://www.juenger.org/newej/biog_page_1.jpg which would introduce the biography section 4. http://www.juenger.org/newej/biog_page2.jpg which would be the first actual section of the biography Points to note - i'll probably lose the drop shadow from the courier new fonts (and thus implement them in html with a style sheet rather than a graphic). The text is probably rather bigger than it ought to be in reality, so there might be more explanatory text on the main contents index. I'd be interested in any feedback you have before I start chopping up the images and pushing them through Dreamweaver and HomeSite.
