There is always a problem with this on lists. I agree there are other =
forums
for contemporary issues, yet if something elicits a response, I think we =
are
responsible to deal with it: amongst each other and in relation to the =
world
we live in. Our common interest is Juenger, but what each of us sees in =
his
work is, and must be different -why hide these differences (which have
little to do with EJ), when we can learn so much about ourselves, each =
other
and the world we live in. In this sense, I see this list primarily as a
forum of open-mindedness, invoking Juenger's spirit. Otherwise, there is =
a
danger in our efforts becoming philatelic.

Yours,
Rastko

Personally I think it has all to do with EJs views
especially in relation to recent postings and
Johns reply.

I don't think Vienna is deciding what should or should
not be published on this list.

Further more there might be some fruitful discussions
resulting fom Professor Kennedy's views based on
such works by EJ as _Gordische Knoten_ und _Weltstaat_.

I would like to start with:

"Es ist eine alte Streitfrage, ob die despotischen Verfassungen
urspruenglicher sind als die freien, wiw viele annehmen. Auch
Spengler vetritt diese Meinung; er glaubt, dass die Sprache sich
aus einfachen Imperativen wie 'tu das' und 'lass jenes' entwickelt
hat. (p. 402). From _Der gordische Knoten_.

Juenger wishes from Scania

Bertil

Let's keep our postings on topic, i.e. let's always make a direct =
reference
to either Juenger's life or his books or an aspect in his philosophy. I
don't think America's role in the world or other similarly "loaded" =
issues
should be discussed here, at least not without explicit reference to
Juenger -- there are so many other forums to do that.

As someone who's been on the Juenger list from day one I can only say =
that
discussing politics just doesn't do this list any good. We've been =
through
our flame wars during the Kosovo war and I personally wouldn't want to =
see
that happening again.
