–– selten so gelacht! I was indeed much relieved to learn that the Zwischenfall 
was merely due to a technical glitch. Relief was followed by some doubts whether 
I had not over-reacted or been too suspicious. Be that as it may, I have just 
e-mailed my apologies to Ms. Morkel. And after some introspection I believe what 
really stung me was that this incident seemed to be a new version of that piece 
of hate mail under the guise of macabre schadenfreude we all were exposed to in 
February. 
Abdalbarr need not fear that I am going to abandon the SCHERE project in favor of 
Der Arbeiter. If we tackle that text it certainly cannot be in the form of a 
commentary line by line. The book is both too long and too repetitive for that. 
But I think you already supplied a solution: you are writing a dissertation 
chapter on DER ARBEITER –– why not share the work in progress with the List and 
invite our questions and comments?
Finally a trifle to be clarified. You objected rightly against Marxism and 
feminism to be labeled as "intellectual disorders". However, what I had in mind 
with calling an "intellectual disorder" was the practice of bashing EJ after 
having 
read too little of his writings and too much of the New Left or of Klaus 
Theweleit.
