(1) Kindlers Malerei Lexikon lists a Callot drawing "Versuchung des hl. Antonius" in the Ermitage of St. Petersburg. I would have expected EJ to mention here the great painting by Matthias Grünewald which is part of the Isenheimer Altar in Colmar in Alsace. (2) His novel LA TENTATION DE SAINT-ANTOINE was written between 1849 and 1874
