Günter, it is not that I believe in the bible literally - I just wanted to point out that the tree of live was not mentioned in the Genesis until after the sinfall. In 2,24 there is written that the Lord placed the cherubim to keep Adam and Eve (i.e. humans) from getting near the tree of life. I agree that EJ meant exactly this tree of life, it just crossed my mind how humans are suddenly able to "touch" this tree by the application of drugs, the tree they were so cautiously kept away from and thus gives room for further thoughts, like either this creator-god is not anymore there and on the guard, or him not being the ultimate instance of legitimacy etc. I mean, we're thrown into this life into the middle of all kinds of trouble and are on top of this supposed to stay put and not even touch anything that might open the lid of this cage. It sounds pretty catholic, doesn't it ? EJ does not really say 'one should not go touch this tree`', but points out what happens if touched. And that sitting in the desert turns on as good as any substance, it only lasts longer. And that appearing demons best be put on the mantlepiece. ;-) Greetings Walter
