Dear Junguerites

Anyway, if this haven't come to discussion
in the list previously (if so, could someone gently point me were I
can find it?), from were is this quote?"

Ricardo, Im talking by memory but think the reference comes from
Der Arbeiter.

The discussion you propose, that of Camus/Junger, still remains
open. Ricardo, its only now, seventy years after, that we are
reaching a point higher enough to begin to understand "the worker
aenigma", to fully comprehend the ultimate implications of that
megamachine called Der Arbeiter (since a time Bertil have been
showing us the troubles of such breaking through the limits without
any contempt). And even at such point the question is not clear at
all - the disquieting, disturbing ambivalence of the "glass bees"
should enough proof of it. Lewis Mumford, another great studier of
technology is clearly against the "megamachine" - the same goes
for Jaques Ellul, von Hayek, to name but a few. On the contrary,
Theilard de Chardin, to put just one example, its plainly favourable,
so are the rest of technocrats(pentagons and similars) and their
"think-tanks" ...
The same division appears in utopy and sci-fi relates.
Its implications are so profound, even teologically speaking , that
the discussing on Der Arbeiter could be nothing but the
metaphysic question par excellence. Its not only the accelerato
speed, the reckless breaking of limits and so on..., it is that the
basic foundations (of mind) is changing, blurring, disipating in a
fascinating and disquieting sfumato.
To resume grosso-modo: does it exist a Great Watcher or not:-)?
Can we - and, more importan indeed, in such case, SHALL WE
totally CONTROL NATURE?=B4To say in plain words: shall we play
god?

Best regards
Roberto
