The depreciating tone, as used by the mandarins of archives and universities, over against 'outsiders', who still appear to have some elementary life in them, is insofar remarkable, as the object of their activities was himself the outsider par excellence, and also had clear opinions about employees of these institutes, which seem to have escaped from their higher form of attention sofar. Receiving a beautiful, and personal letter, like the one Gerhard received from Liselotte Junger, is something that probably will remain out of their reach. rene ----------------------------------- drs.
