Todd, Juenger commented on the Freisler document in Siebzig Verweht V, and wrote among other things: "Der Brief (von Freisler, note) erkl=E4rte mir nun Keitels Eifer (about Juenger's retirement from the Wehrmacht) - er hatte Angst von einem unmittelbar gegen mich bevorstehenden Prozess und wollte sich und die Armee aus der Affaere aushalten." (page 92, the comments are on pp. 90-95, rather wideranging).
