remember people, it's juenger-list@juenger.org with a hyphen ;-) ---------- Forwarded Message ---------- Subject: Anarch and Katechon Date: Sat, 20 Jul 2002 15:19:13 +0200 From: "Bertil Haggman" <mvk575b@tninet.se> To: "Martin Reichel" <martin.reichel@surfeu.de> Cc: <juenger.list@juenger.org> Sehr geehrter Herr Reichel and Juenger readers, The best English translation in my view of Kat=E9chon seems to be Restrai= ner as it has the connection, I believe, with classical Greek (kata =3D down, echein =3D to hold). The Kat=E9chon would then be the one who restrains Anti-Christ. Container as related to containment has the modern meaning "hold back" as in holding back communism plus the meaning of a modern device for transportation via ship. If we should believe Juenger himself Anarch is a development of the Gestalt (figure) Waldgaenger. On the other hand the word Gestalt is very unclear. As for Uebermensch I would not, personally, think there is any relation between that term and Kat=E9chon. With best wishes Bertil Haggman > there might be a misunderstanding.
