Gary, Sedition Service sounds allright to me. They probably had the noble task of what is called in today's German 'Desinformation'. Zähringstrasse is not to be found on the map of the inner city of Vienna in my Meyers Lexikon of 1895. There was a petty dynasty of the Zähringer in South West Germany, but Zähring does not ring any bell with me. Heinrich Mann wrote an autobiography, Ein Zeitalter wird besichtigt, but in fact it is primarily a statement of his Weltanschauung and probably does not contain any detailed information about that committee. Perhaps you find something in K. Pawek, Heinrich Manns Kampf gegen den Faschismus im französischen Exil 1933-1940, Hamburg 1972. Or in Heinrich Mann am Wendepunkt der deutschen Geschichte. Internationale wissenschaftliche Konferenz aus Anlass des 100. Geburtstages von Heinrich Mann, März 1971, Berlin (DDR) 1971.
