This is now the second or third appearance of the cutting or not cutting
shears.
I admit freely that I do not (yet, I hope) understand the phrase. Why is it
that the
shears do not *yet* cut in the fourth century AD, in the times of the
church fathers, before the catholic church was constituted ? So far I was
inclined to think the shears cut in this real world of bodies and pain and
not cut out there beyond the realm of time, but this will not quite fit with
the mentioned sentence. Any hints ?

Is there a special reason you chose "wilderness" and not "desert" for
"Wueste" ?

Greetings

Walter
