I just have a feeling the translation by Karl Simrock (1802-1876) might be the one. He was the pioneer in translating the old germanic and medieval stuff, Nibelungen, Edda etc. By the way, eighty thousand Eddas sold by 1940, what a number - doubtfull if they were all read. Probably the kind of book the sons of party members got for Christmas. Greetings Walter
