Den Titanen genuegt der kosmische Wandel, der Ewige Wiederkehr. 233 Wenn wir fuer das kommende Jahrhundert eine zugleich grossartige und bedrohliche Machtentfaltung als titanisches "Interim" fuer moeglich haelt, so bedarf es eine Zurechtlegung. Warum sollte man den Titanen, denen als den Repräsentanten kosmischer Gewalten Ewige Wiederkehr gemaess ist, nur ein Interregnum zubilligen? Sie sind die Herren der Zeit, die sich unmittelbar im Kosmos demonstrieren, waehrend Kulte kommen und vergehen. Eher ist anzunehmen, dass Goettliches zuweilen von fernher - nicht aus dem Ewigen, sondern aus dem Zeitlosen anweht, aufkeimt und verblueht. Dem wuerde Spenglers Auffassung entsprechen, nach der Kulturen wie Samenkoerner herangetragen werden und sich zu hoeherer Entfaltung, vor allem in der Kunst, einnisten.... .............................................................. Commentary The above is an important statement concerning the Titans by EJ. The Titans are ruling and will be ruling into the 21st century but their rule is an "Interregnum" and will be followed by the return of the Gods in the 22nd century. The Titans are attacking the Gods and win triumps but their triumphs are shortlived and but they represent great natural forces. EJ has several times pointed to environmental problems caused by "titanic" actions of man. Global warming causing the melt down of large icecaps on Greenland and in the Antarctica and maybe causing a new Flood. EJ divides the fall of the Gods into three periods and we are obviously in the third period when the Titans are revolting agains the Gods. Prometheus Bound has freed himself (see David Landes book from 1969 (Cambridge University Press that puts Prometheus in connection with the industrial development in western Europe since 1750.)
